Conclusion:
This experiment demonstrated the process of cleaning up an oil spill by accurately recreating an oil spill on a smaller scale. This became apparent when the oil in the container stayed above the water and attempted to separate from it. My hypothesis was proved correct as 99% of the oil was contained or absorbed, and that dish soap and cotton balls were proved the most efficient at their implied purpose. All of the variables were considered, identified and controlled as seen in the “Discussion”. In conclusion the experiment was successful and my hypothesis was proved correct.
